Product Description

NivoPress D hydrostatic level and pressure transmitters are 2-wire level transmitters that convert relative, or absolute pressure  input signal, into a 4-20mA output signal, making it perfect for coninuous level measurement applications. The piezoresistive sensor measures the hydrostatic pressure and the atmospheric pressure to give you an accurate reading of the liquid level. This sensor is protected by a stainless steel flush diaphram which transfers the pressure value through silicon oil.

The sophisticated electronics in the NivoPress D are HART programmable, through either a HART modem or a local, plug in display. Instrinsically safe and explosion proof models are available for use in hazardous areas, making the NivoPress D hydrostatic level transmitter suitable for a range of applications, such as fuel storage tanks, to the food and beverage industry.

The Pinciple of Hydrostatic Level Measurement:

The operating principle of hydrostatic level measurement is relatively simple. The NivoPress D utilises a highly accurate and precise pressure transmitter that measures the pressure at the bottom of a tank or vessel, and subtracts the atmospheric pressure from this value to give the hydrostatic pressure. The hydrostatic pressure measured by the NivoPress is directly proportional to the liquid level, however the hydrostatic pressure can vary depending on the medium, so these variables must be programmed remotely via HART or through a local plug in display for accurate continuous level measurement.
