Product Description

The MicroTREK guided wave radar is a tried and tested technology from one of the most reputable brands in the world, Nivelco. The guided wave radar level sensors are ideal for continuous level measurement in almost any application, including many different types of bulk solids such as grains, cement powder, limestone and even liquids or slurries. With the MicroTREK we are able to accurately measure the toughest applications, as these guided wave radars are virtually unaffected by process conditions. With no moving parts, these radars are expected to require minimal maintenance, even in dusty applications, causing you less downtime and fewer headaches! The 4-20mA and HART output ensure this level sensor will be compatible with almost any existing process equipment to minimise changes to if you want to upgrade your existing equipment, or use our guided wave radar with other process monitoring systems and devices.

How does it work? Guided Wave Radar.

The Nivelco Guided Wave Radar level sensor uses the time domain reflectometry principle (measures the time of reflection) for highly accurate, and reliable continuous level measurement. The electronics in the instruments housing send low power, nanosecond-wide pulses down a conductive cable, rod of coaxial probe with a known propagation speed. As this pulse reaches the surface of the medium being measured, some of the pulse is reflected back, to the electronics in the instruments. The level is directly proportional to the flight time of the pulse, and is converted to a 4-20mA and HART signal for integration into your existing SCADA system or process monitoring devices. From the level data, further information can be calculated such as volume, mass and ullage.

Common Applications for Guided Wave Radar Sensors:

Insensitive to environmental changes such as humidity, dust, temperature or turbulence.

Guided Wave Radar’s can be installed into existing tanks while in operation.

Continuous level measurement of a range of solids, granules, powders and even liquids.

Ideal for dirty service applications.
